Senior Spotlights 2019

We are so proud of the accomplishments of our seniors, both on the ice and off!  We hope you'll enjoying reading about them and what is next in their lives.

LINDSEY SCOTT #57

Hockey Nickname: Chipper

Position: Goaltender

Number of Years Playing for SCS: 5

High School: Mars Area 

Plans for next season: Attend Penn State University and play for the Penn State Lady Lions Women’s Club Ice Hockey team

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory: Scoring a goal at MidAms way back in the day when I used to skate out that took us into overtime.  Also when the hotel at Nationals in Vermont was
evacuated in the middle of the night and I had the opportunity to climb into a fire truck. Pretty cool.

Favorite SCS Off-Ice Memory: Jumping into a 43 degree pool with my jaw wired shut at a team party.

Favorite Locker Room Song: Fergalicious

Anything Else? Thank you to all the coaches that have made me the player I am today.  Thank you Coach Mudd, Coach Jonathan, Coach Tindall, Coach Kiminski, and any other coach that I have ever played for. Not only did you help to shape my game but who I am as well. Thank you to my parents, Jack and Lori, for supporting me through this long journey of highs and lows and spending countless hours watching games, driving to rinks, and having fun with me along the way. Lastly, thank you to our amazing team managers and team moms that helped make every trip a blast.


Kassidy Heidkamp #90

Hockey Nickname: Kamper

Position: Forward

Number of Years Playing for SCS:

High School: Carlynton Jr/Sr High School

Plans for Next Season: I will be attending Alvernia University to study nursing and play for their NCAA D3 women's hockey team.

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory: Winning districts and going to Nationals last year.

Favorite SCS Off-Ice SCS Memory: Spending time with the team when on travel weekends

Favorite Locker Room Song: SICKO MODE by Travis Scott

Anything Else? I am thankful for being part of a team where everyone is accepting and willing to work together. Special thanks to my family, coaches and teammates for making my two years at SCS the best two years of my life.


Victoria Wilson #35

Hockey Nickname: Vic 

Position: Defense

Number of Years Playing for SCS: 5

High School: North Catholic

Plans for Next Season: I will attend Washington and Jefferson College to major in biology. I hope to attend medical school or a PA program.  I will not be playing hockey in college, but instead will be playing tennis.

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory: Being part of Nationals in Vermont,
Massachusetts, and Michigan.  Also during the Pitt game when Shurm toe picked beautifully and everyone on the bench heard me yell "What the heck?!"

Favorite SCS Off-Ice SCS Memory: All our team dinners, being part of such an amazing team that’s family, and the opportunity to travel and to play teams from all over the nation.

Favorite Locker Room Song: Forbes by G-Eazy

Anything Else? Special thanks to my parents, especially my mom for being a great team manager since her first year playing for SCS. I'd also like to thank the wonderful teammates and coaches who have encouraged me along the way.


KatElyn Sherman #67

Hockey Nickname: Katie

Position: Forward

High School: Bethel Park

Plans for Next Season: I will attend the University of Pittsburgh and play on their club team.

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory:  My first SCS goal and the CCM World Invite tournament.

Favorite SCS Off-Ice SCS Memory: Hanging with the team during weekend trips.

Favorite Locker Room Song: Time of our Lives by PittBull

Anything Else? I am thankful for how much I have improved while playing with the SCS hockey program.  Special thanks to my family and teammates.


Mackenzie Gillie #20

Hockey Nickname: Kenzie

Position: Goaltender

High School: West Allegheny

Plans for Next Season: I will attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania and major in speech pathology. I will play for their club hockey team.

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory:  The shutout at the Selects tournament. 

Favorite SCS Off-Ice SCS Memory: After-game team dinners and spending time as a team at hotel at Penn State tournament. 

Favorite Locker Room Song: Sicko Mode by Travis Scott

Anything Else?  I am thankful for the opportunity to grow as a player and person while playing with the best group of girls. Special thanks to my family, teammates, and coaches.


Anily Allsopp #56

High School: Upper St Clair

Plans for Next Season: I will attend Penn State University and play on their ACHA club team

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory: Scoring in the Ponytail Tournament against a Tier I team.

Favorite SCS Off-Ice SCS Memory: Meeting my best friends.

Anything Else? Special thanks to my family.  And my favorite color is Steel City Yellow.


Emily Gallagher #43

Plans for Next Season: I am still deciding what school I want to attend.

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory: When Vic forgot her white jersey and made the entire team switch to black.

Anything Else?  I am thankful for getting the chance to play with some of the most fun girls!  Special thanks to my family and teammates.


Alex Adams #11

Number of Years Playing for SCS: 1

High School: North Allegheny

Plans for Next Season: I plan on studying mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and playing on their soccer team.

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory:  Every time I hit the ice I had a great time

Favorite SCS Off-Ice SCS Memory: pregame locker room dancing before every game.

Anything Else? Special thanks to my  parents. They always encourage me to do my best and to have fun.


Abby Shurmatz #33

High School: Quaker Valley

Plans for Next Season: I will major in biology and attend either the University of Pittsburgh or Chatham with plans to attend medical school.

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory: The tournaments and making new friends.

Anything Else?  I am thankful for the chance to challenge myself at a higher level and to improve as a player and person.  Special thanks to my parents for supporting her through everything and giving her the best life ever!


Shae lynne Mooney #81

Position: Defense

Number of Years Playing for SCS: 2

High School: Elizabeth Forward

Plans for Next Season: I will attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio to study speech pathology.

Favorite SCS Off-Ice SCS Memory: I was crying in the car after Nationals BUT Lauren cried because the Italian Restaurant didn’t have meatballs!!

Anything Else? I am thankful for all of the lifelong friends I've met, Coach Mud, my teammates, coaches, and friends.


Chloe Coleman #37

Position: Defense

High School: Moon Area

Plans for Next Season: I plan on attending college to pursue a degree in deaf education. 

Favorite SCS On-Ice Memory: Getting the chance to play high-level hockey and making life-long friends.
